Integrated Behavioral Health Services

What is Integrated Behavioral Health?

Counselor with ClientAt Adelante Healthcare, we know that good health involves the heart and head as well as the body.

Integrated Behavioral Health Consultants can help when habits, behaviors, stress, worry or other problems are interfering with your daily life and affecting your health.

Working as a team with you and your doctor, a Behavioral Health Consultant can help you:

  • Make lifestyle changes to improve your health and well-being, whether you need to stop smoking, lose weight, reduce alcohol consumption or exercise more.
  • Reduce symptoms or help you cope better with the symptoms of chronic medical conditions like migraine and tension headaches, fibromyalgia, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, COPD and cardiovascular disease.
  • Address stress, anxiety, depression and relationship issues
  • Provide referrals to outside agencies

What Should I Expect During a Behavioral Health Consultation?

The Behavioral Health Consultant will ask you questions about your physical symptoms, emotional concerns you may be having, your behaviors and talk with you about how all of these might be related.

Counseling Session

Your visits will be fairly short—no longer than 30 minutes—with a focus on practical solutions you can implement to make the small daily changes that add up to big health changes.

As the “Integrated” in Integrated Behavioral Health suggests, these services are designed to be part of the overall health care plan you and your primary care provider are developing.

Your provider will continue to be in charge of your health care. Your Behavioral Health Consultant is a resource to provide you the support you need to be the healthiest you possible!

Who Will Be Helping Me?

Our Integrated Behavioral Health Consultants are licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs) who are highly experienced and dedicated to helping you uncover the lifestyle factors and underlying health conditions that may be affecting your health confidentally and without judgment.

How is Integrated Behavioral Health Different from Other Mental Health Services?

Behavioral Health Counseling is part of the medical health care plan your primary care provider recommends and the treatment is focused on resolving any issues directly affecting your health rather than a more traditional psychotherapy.

How Do I Schedule a Behavioral Health Appointment?

If you would like to work with an Integrated Behavioral Health Consultant, talk to your provider about setting up a referral.

You can typically be seen the same day but will always be seen within the same week.
